The Fire Brigade Museum in Schwäbisch Hall – Experience history since 1300

A journey through the world of firefighters

Immerse yourself in the stories of the fight against devastating town fires and firestorms! In the rooms of a former mill, which was in 1897 the scene of the first Schwäbisch Haller industrial fire, can be found on an area of 1,600 square meters more than 6,000 exhibits. Here you will encounter real firemen discover medieval shock spraying of wood and fascinating extinguishing technology from several centuries. Firemen living history!

Unique: the helmet collection

Europe’s largest international collection of historic fire helmets is a real highlight. Each of the 600 helmets has its own history.

Here are the large emergency vehicles

In a historic wooden warehouse of Hohenloher Open Museum Wackershofen you detailed insight into the history of the fire engine and find an exceptional collection of historical extinguishers. Combine a visit to our branch office with a visit to the open-air museum! We offer interesting special events such as the “day of the fire.”

The museum is located on the idyllic Kocher-Jagst cycle path. For people with disabilities, it is easily accessible.
